Know Your Opponent with Mike Wobschall from Vikings.com

Know-Your-Opponent-2

Here we are, week 16, the final 2012 game against an AFC North foe (unless… Super Bowl, anyone?) This time, the Houston Texans face the Adrian Peterson led Minnesota Vikings for a Sunday noon game at Reliant. The Vikings are not entirely unknown to the Texans as the interconference opponents met in the final week of the preseason. Of course that was a long time and many injuries ago – and before a couple of each team’s players emerged as potential NFL MVP candidates. Where’s the fun in this particular game? Only watching Adrian Peterson grind it out in attempt…

Texans to Watch: Colts Edition

Antonio Smith and the secondary

The 11-2 Texans look to rebound from the Monday night debacle by corralling the AFC South second place Colts.  The 9-4 Colts are led by Houston native and former number one pick quarterback Andrew Luck as well as the emotional spirit of first year head coach Chuck Pagano, who is still recovering from cancer treatment.  Although the sky is falling for some fans outside Reliant Stadium after last week, this game is for the AFC South Championship – if the Texans win, they win the South Division and control their own path.  Time to refocus on what is most important….

The Good? The Bad and The Ugly: Patriots Edition

Tom Brady and the New England Patriots hosted the Houston Texans at Gillette Stadium and routed the Texans. In what looked to be a great matchup turned into a slaughter in the first half of the game and the Texans never recovered. Now the question becomes how do the Texans recover from yet another thrashing by an elite quarterback?   FINAL SCORE: Texans 14 Patriots 42   TEXANS REGULAR SEASON RECORD: 11-2 TEXANS DIVISIONAL RECORD: 4-0 TEXANS AFC CONFERENCE RECORD: 9-1 TEXANS VS NFC CONFERENCE RECORD:  2-1   GAME SUMMARY Texans Total Yards: 323 Patriots Total Yards: 419   Texans…

Texans To Watch: Patriots Edition

Schaub

This week 14 matchup consists of two leaders in the AFC both on six game winning streaks. The Houston Texans (11-1) look to make a statement on the prime time stage of Monday Night Football in the house that Tom Brady built, Gillette Stadium. Some believe this is a preview of the AFC Championship game. The Patriots (9-3) have already clinched the AFC East champion title while the Texans are still looking to not only win the AFC South but gain home field advantage throughout the playoffs.  This game features several matchups but probably the most interesting will be the coaching matchup…

Week 14. Monday Night Football.  The 11-1 Houston Texans take their AFC-leading record into Foxborough, MA to face the defending AFC champion New England Patriots for the Texans biggest test of the season. The Good, The Bad and The Ugly: Titans Edition 2

Antonio Smith

Another Texans and Titans (TNT) matchup is in the books. The Texans closed out their final divisional matchup with their most volatile rival. The Texans went into LP Field in Tennessee to face the Titans and they beat them with ease. After the Texans got up to a 21-3 lead, the Texans’ offense put it on cruise control and grinded out another win that got them closer to homefield throughout the playoffs.   FINAL SCORE: Texans 24 Titans 10   TEXANS REGULAR SEASON RECORD: 11-1 TEXANS DIVISIONAL RECORD: 4-0 TEXANS AFC CONFERENCE RECORD: 9-0 TEXANS VS NFC CONFERENCE RECORD:  2-1  …

Week 13. The 10-1 Houston Texans go into LP Field at noon on Sunday to face the 4-7 Tennessee Titans. It’s difficult to predict how the Titans will play any week, but given the deficiencies in the Texans defense shown over the past two weeks, the Titans could bring a few surprises. Bring in MusicCityMiracles.com‘s Jimmy Morris who addresses Texans fans concerns on new Titans OC Dowell Loggains, QB Jake Locker, inconsistent star offensive players, and makes a quick comment on Bud Adams and his typical demands. Jimmy has lots to share. Read on.   Don’t stop sending…

Schaub Has Jersey and Shoes Sent to Hall of Fame

Schaub

Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub was honored when his jersey and cleats were flown to Canton, Ohio to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Schaub was being honored for his 527 yard passing day (43 completions on 55 attempts) with 5 touchdowns against the Jacksonville Jaguars on November 18th. The monumental day landed Schaub with the second best passing day in NFL history tying him with Warren Moon and only behind Norm Van Brocklin who passed for 554 yards in 1951 to top single game passing list.    See it here

The Rundown: Texans vs. Lions

Forsett

Possibly one of the oddest games we can remember from the Houston Texans history of games, but how amazing is it to see them sitting at 10-1? After a grueling stretch of three games and a short week to play in their first Thanksgiving game, they pulled out another overtime victory over the Detroit Lions. After what could be called a game of some odd plays and situations, the Texans finally caught some big breaks that resulted in a win. Sometimes luck is involved in winning, but good teams find a way to win and that is exactly what the Texans…

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly: Jaguars Edition 2

Andre Johnson finally has help.

On Sunday, the Houston Texans hosted the Jacksonville Jaguars in their second and final matchup of the regular season. The Texans won the first matchup 27-7 in Jacksonville the second week of the season. This game appeared to be a warm up game for the Thanksgiving game, but the Jaguars had another type of game in mind. The Texans had no idea that the Jaguars would come into this game and bring all they had. Fortunately for the Texans, the Jaguars “A” game wasn’t enough to beat them.   FINAL SCORE: Texans 43 Jaguars 37   TEXANS REGULAR SEASON RECORD:…
