Clip Breakdown: Week 1
When doing our breakdown of the Houston Texans’ game versus the Miami Dolphins, there were a few things that we saw that caught our eyes. We wanted to share what we saw, and trust us we could have shown screenshots all day. We hope to continue this series week to week but we decided to start small for our first installment. We focused on two particular plays that seem to keep popping into our mind. Here are the two. Play #1: Where is he going? Here is a All-22 view that gives a better…
The POGs: Miami Edition
RELIANT STADIUM – The Texans, with high expectations, opened the 2012 season by routing the Miami Dolphins 30-10. Albeit the first quarter was comparable to a chess match, the Texans’ strengths far outweighed the Phins’, which is ultimately what led to the victory. The Phins’ defensive front threw some things at the Texans’ offensive line that seemingly caused fits in the running game. And, on the flip side, the Phins’ offensive line battled the Texans’ defensive line better than expected – in the first quarter, that is. Once the defense figured out how to stop the Phins’ running attack, which was essentially only one-quarter of play,…
The Good, The Bad and The Ugly: Dolphins Edition
The Houston Texans opened up their regular season yesterday against the Miami Dolphins at Reliant Stadium. The Dolphins, with rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill, came into this game hoping to do to the Texans what Mark Sanchez did to them his rookie season and win his first career football game. It’s obvious that the Texans remembered that game and were not about to allow it to happen again. The Texans started off slow but they broke out of the slump when the defense made big play after big play. The offense was given a couple of short fields and punched it…

Texans Players to Watch: Dolphins Edition
With the 2012 season fast approaching, expectations have never been higher for a Texans’ team. In fact, some “experts” are predicting not only a repeat AFC South Championship but also a Super Bowl appearance. But, let’s not get carried away – they still have to play the games. This Sunday the Texans will play host to the Miami Dolphins, who feature a rookie quarterback in former Texas A&M Aggie Ryan Tannehill and a rookie head coach in Joe Philbin. Wearing jersey number 17, Tannehill is ironically the 17th starting quarterback for the Dolphins since legendary hall of famer Dan Marino. However, the good news…
Are Sherman and Nolan the Secret Weapons?
Week one is upon us and the Houston Texans are early favorites to defeat the visiting Miami Dolphins in the season opener at Reliant Stadium. The Dolphins have been featured this season on HBO’s “Hard Knocks” and been the center of talk surrounding the reality portion of the NFL. Always important for a team to start the season off on the right foot, the Dolphins seem to think they have some inside information on what the Texans could be doing this Sunday. Look no further than the names of Mike Sherman and Troy Nolan, who are both coming to Houston…
