Here are a few notes from the Texans Mini-Camp on Tuesday: Texans Mini-Camp Day 1 – Head Coach Gary Kubiak showed his displeasure for rookie offensive lineman Brandon Brooks for being over weight on weigh- ins today. Kubiak wants Brooks to get his weight down for on-field reasons. This will be something to watch in the coming months. – The Texans have invited wide receiver Mike Sims-Walker, linebackers Keith Browner, Prescott Burgess, and former Texans fullback (’02-’05) Moran Norris to mini-camp. Texans to Workout Mike Sims-Walker
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Houston Texans are scheduled to bring in former Jacksonville Jaguars and St. Louis Rams wide receiver Mike Sims-Walker for a workout on Wednesday. Sims-Walker split time in 2011 with the Rams and Jaguars, only appearing in 6 games, and is currently an unrestricted free agent. He has battled injuries throughout his career mainly with his knees. Sims-Walker was a budding star for the Jaguars where he caught 14 touchdown with 106 receptions for 1,431 yards between 2009-2010, until his knee injury sidelined him.
