Texans Bring back Jonathan Grimes
According to multiple reports, a day after the New York Jets released Jonathan Grimes, the Houston Texans claimed the rookie running back off of waivers and brought him back to Houston. The Texans had Grimes on their practice squad during the start of the 2012 season but lost him to the New York Jets when he was claimed off the practice squad late September.
Grimes was a pleasant surprise out of William and Mary when he came into camp running the football and, most importantly, making a name for himself on the special teams unit. There was speculation that he would make the final 53 man roster but with an ailing Ben Tate the move makes sense with him coming in as insurance behind Arian Foster and Justin Forsett. Also, it would be safe to say that Grimes will be helping on special teams units this coming Sunday.
With Grimes being claimed from waivers, he will be headed to the active roster so a corresponding move will be made by waiving someone from the 53 man roster.
The Texans made the move.
The #Texans released Mister Alexander to add Grimes.
