The first team All-South Atlantic Conference team selection appeared in 11 games where he posted 94 total tackles, 10 tackles for loss and also he had a 1/2 quarterback sack. He led the team in tackles and has showcased some toughness from the inside. At 6′ and 240 lbs., he has been timed in the 40 yard dash at 4.57 seconds and benched 225 lbs., 30 times. His private workout is scheduled at his high school at Alma Bryant High School in Alabama one day before the 2012 Supplemental Draft is scheduled to take place.
The Texans are doing their due diligence on potential prospects and with a full house with the inside linebacker position already, Lumpkin will have to impress to get the Texans to bite.
