TEXANS PROFILE: JARED CRICK
With the 126th pick of the 2012 NFL Draft the Houston Texans select Jared Crick, DE from the University of Nebraska.
The Texans hit a homerun with this pick deep in the fourth round not only did they get exceptional value, but they got a second round talent deep in the draft. I believe Jared Crick could have been drafted much higher, but due to a torn pectoral injury that ended his senior season prematurely didn’t help going into this years’ draft. Crick was rumored to be good only because of the attention that Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh received when they played together. Crick is a load to handle with heavy hands, and power he can push the pile and disrupt plays in the backfield. This is just another exceptional move by Rick Smith, Wade Phillips and company, as they look to build a lineage of great defensive linemen and build a reputation as one of the great defenses of this decade. My final note on this is to all of the teams in the AFC South get your rest now because when the season starts the Texans will have two young Brahma bulls primed and ready to be unleashed on your quarterback. Welcome to the reign of Bulls on Parade.
