Grimes was an undrafted free agent from William and Mary and made the practice squad coming out of camp. Then Grimes had a whirlwind tour of the NFL when the New York Jets claimed Grimes of the practice squad, then soon waived him weeks later. With Ben Tate fighting injuries the Texans claimed Grimes off of waivers and was mainly a special teams contributor.
With the move the Texans have opened a spot on their active roster, so a move will be made in the coming days.
