Texans Showing Interest in Stefan Charles
According to Aaron Wilson (Scout.com) the Houston Texans have inquired about Regina defensive lineman, Stefan Charles. Charles played three seasons for the Regina Cougars and was a 2011 CIS First Team All-Canadian and 2011 Canada West All-Star, and measures at 6-5 and 310 lbs.
Charles was invited to the NFL Super Regional Combine in Dallas, Texas were he looked to build on an impressive Regional Combine. he also participated in the Canadian Football League Combine. He is considered a lock to be drafted into the CFL, but his 37 inch vertical at the NFL Regional Combine in Tampa, Florida opened scouts eyes.
Teams around the league are projecting Charles to be a 3-4 defensive end and in 22 career games at Regina he posted 19.5 TFLs, 9.5 sacks and 50 tackles. A hand injury caused him to miss majority of his final season at Regina, but he is looks like he is gaining traction with NFL teams and overall interest.
