Texans Sign Shayne Graham
Late Monday afternoon the Houston Texans have announced they have signed 11 year veteran kicker Shayne Graham to a deal for the 2012 season. Graham will be brought in to compete with rookie draft pick Randy Bullock during camp, and be the exciting kicking competition that the organization wanted heading into the season.
Graham has kicked for the Buffalo Bills, Carolina Panthers, Cincinnati Bengals, New York Giants, New England Patriots, Miami Dolphins and Baltimore Ravens in his 11 year NFL career. The 34-year-old Graham has hit over 85% of his field goal attempts during his career and only missed 5 extra points in 328 attempts. Graham has been consistent as a kicker and was the Bengals cornerstone spending 7 seasons with them between the 2003-2009 seasons.
Bullock will be given every opportunity to win the kicking duties for the Texans going into camp, but with Graham now signed the Texans now have an insurance policy just in case Bullock does not work out.
